This is a deal we don't see very often due primarily to the fact that this particular version of the Duet 3 isn't being offered in standard consumer channels as much as its 4GB daily sibling. But among the main reasons the Duet 3 is inferior to the larger Duet 5 most days – 4GB versus 8GB of RAM – This version of Lenovo's 11-inch ChromeOS tablet bridges the performance gap.
The problem with the 8GB Duet 3 is two-fold most days: It's only available on Lenovo's website and is generally priced at $429. While that's not a high price for a great tablet with RAM and an upgraded keyboard in the box, it does seem quite expensive when the consistently excellent Duet 5 is discounted at Best Buy for just $329.
Cheaper than the 4GB version currently
However, for a while, Lenovo seems to be holding on to this unique version of Duet 3 less tightly. And for a $140 discount, you can get the Duet 3 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for just $289.99. While that's $20 more than the sale price we often see at Best Buy for the 4GB model, don't forget the benefits that 8GB of RAM gives you in a device that can struggle with performance.
The extra 4GB of RAM can help with performance bottlenecks, and if you're looking at the two main Chromebook tablets on the market and want something more compact, lightweight, and easy to store in a smaller bag, the Duet 3 could be the one for you. Now you don't have to worry about the difference in RAM between Duet 5 and Duet 3 since the internal specifications are literally the same.
Just don't sit on this deal for too long. We don't see the 8GB version of the Duet 3 on sale very often, so it could disappear at any moment. If you're looking for a smaller ChromeOS tablet, this is definitely the one you're looking for.
