In fact, it was easy to imagine the whole series ending with That’s the last episodeWill, perhaps, once realized that he was still connected to Vecna.

But that’s not how the Dover Brothers play: There’s still a whole season to come. This could be bad news for the kids who have to prepare to save Hawkins – or what’s left of her. Netflix

When will the final season of Stranger Things be released?

This is a bigger mystery than what Erica found exactly under Lucas’ bed. There was a year between the first two seasons, and then we had to wait two years for season three, and two more seasons for season four. (This explains why babies grow so fast – see Our photo gallery to marvel at the differences.) The Dover Brothers Said popup from the lineup That the wait wouldn’t be long this time, but they also haven’t started filming yet. So we’ve been estimating a year and a half, which will put the show into early 2024. (David Harbor, who plays Hopper, Guess mid-2024.)

What is this about time jump?

As we said, children grow up. Millie Bobby Brown, who plays 11, is 18 now, and Joe Kerry, who plays Steve, is 30. Each season jumped forward by a year, which would bring the final season to 1987. But if the show jumps by more than one year, younger kids may be able to catch up at their actual ages — say the show picked up because they’re about to graduate from Hawkins.

The Dover Brothers, the show’s creators, have Confirm time jump, although they did not disclose the details. The problem, however, is that Hawkins is already on fire when Season 4 has faded, so it looks like the kids need to get back to work immediately. This will be something the Duffers will have to work on as they reopen their show’s writers’ room.

lower settings

Season 4 was kind of all over the place, with Hopper and Joyce mostly in Russia, Eleven starting in California (we still want revenge on Angela’s ice rink), and some crew members at Hawkins. Show jumped between settings pretty smoothly, but Duffers say it will Focus on keeping everyone together at Hawkins for the last season.

The importance of Will Byers

The show started in season one with Will Byers kidnapped, and it looks like the focus may be back on him. Ross Dover says Will is a “big part and focus” of the final season. There was speculation that Will was trying to tell Mike he was gay in season 4, which was a much bigger deal in 1986. And everything Will does is made even more difficult by the fact that he still apparently feels connected to Vecna.

Eddie and Max

New character Eddie Monson sacrificed himself in Season 4, and the Duffers reassured fans that real death is real. Actor Joseph Quinn will likely appear in a flashback (though Alexei did not do that), but the character will not be an active part of the final season.

It’s different for Max Mayfield, who has been a solid part of the show since season two. Max finished season four in the hospital, where Vecna attempted to kill her in the same horrific manner of breaking bones, destroying the eye that killed the others before her. She is still alive, but not in good shape, and she remains in a coma. There I just don’t feel any way the Duffers would kill Max, though – in fact, this time jump probably helped her bones (and brain) heal.

The end will be long again

The final fourth season was over two hours long. It will also be the end of Season 5, albeit not very long, Duffers says. But it will move quickly. They note that Season 5 will jump right into the action, joking that the finale will have “eight endings.” Prepare to block out some serious watching time in 2024.

Then casually?

The Duffers teased their fans with a message that said, “There are still many exciting stories to tell in the world of ‘Stranger Things’; new puzzles, new adventures, and unexpected new heroes.”

“We have an idea for a show that we’re very excited about,” they assured Variety. The creators say they haven’t revealed the idea yet, even to Netflix, and they think everyone will be surprised. But they also said that actor Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike, correctly guessed the sub-topic. So unless someone can convince Finn to reveal the secret, we’ll have to wait.
