The event took place at midnight on September 14 at the Jean-Paul-l’Allier estate. Several witnesses later called 911 and reported that a 33-year-old woman had been stabbed.
The police quickly found the victim and the injured on the spot. “The latter reportedly told police that a suspect was on the run and that they had been attacked by him,” SPVQ spokesman David Poitras said.
A police force was deployed to the Saint-Roch district amid fears that an armed suspect would attack people because of the confessions received. No suspects have been found.
The injured are suspects
“However, the investigation quickly proved that the injured persons who gave statements to the police were indeed suspects in the attempted murder,” said Mr. Poitras confirms.
As a result, 22-year-old Gabriel Poirier was charged with aggravated assault on the 33-year-old victim. The latter, as well as Gabriel Deblois and Benjamin Poirier, in their twenties, face charges of public mischief for making false statements.
Thus, they are charged with having, with intent to deceive, make a third person suspect, by reporting a crime, namely assault, leading the peace officers to initiate an investigation. All three men are being held in custody until at least Friday.
Advocate M said that the evidence needs to be perfected and other charges can be filed at this timee Valerie Belisaire-Joseph.
