Two drunk drivers have been arrested in Beaux and Quebec in the past few hours.
The holiday season hasn’t started yet but some have decided to celebrate a little earlier.
Monday evening, around 6:30, a head-on collision occurred on rue Seigneuriale, between rue Douvain and rue Nordique.
Quebec police say a driver in his thirties was arrested for driving under the influence. An analysis should soon reveal the exact ratio.
The suspect was driving erratically on Seigneuriale Street when he found himself in the opposite lane. Due to his condition, the paramedics even put him on a stretcher.
Elsewhere, on Tuesday, the Sûreté du Québec also arrested an impaired driver. The accident happened around 2pm on route 271 in Saint-Éphrem in Beauce.
The driver reportedly struck a semi-trailer truck that was backing into the entrance of a business. A 70-year-old woman failed a screening device test. A more precise analysis was carried out to ascertain his state of intoxication.
Note that operations of Operation Red Nose have resumed two years after the pandemic. By the end of the first week, 1,539 had returned safely to the province. In the Quebec City area, service will resume this Thursday. In Quebec and Levis, the number to dial is 418-380-5500.
