The Trudel brothers bought the Dorchester block for six million dollars.
Merchants occupied the space between Dorchester, Saint-Hélène, Caron and Saint-Vallier Est streets.
According to Jonathan Trudel, the current industry will not change for now. Analysis is underway to determine the best plan for this critical location.
The Trudel brothers had already been parking managers for two years. In the immediate future, current operations will no longer pose a threat to users.
Strategic platform
“This allowed us to start discussions before the acquisition. We are not in a position to answer what the plan is. Many analyzes need to be done to find the best use. We bought the land because it is a very strategic site. It is a land with high potential,” said Mr. Trudal Corporation, Executive Vice President.
The latter did not specify a deadline for announcing a decision. However, this acquisition means that the Dorchester block will undergo a transformation in the medium to long term.
According to him, residential or commercial use is possible according to the rules in force in Quebec (PPU). “Regulatory tools are already in place to allow growth in this sector,” he said.
Different planning
In the world of real estate, new parameters are added to the thinking of businessmen, especially interest rates, inflation, availability of materials and labor. All these properties are planned for a long time to implement several large regional projects.
Trudel Group will also start the Fleur de Lys site revitalization project next January, with the aim of welcoming its first residents in early 2025.
Jonathan Trudel confirmed in the past few days that the implementation phase will begin soon. The official construction site for the first residential constructions in Fleur de Lys will open in the first days of 2023.
