A police operation is currently underway to find one of the two men involved in Thursday morning’s kidnapping in Laval, on Fernand-Gauthier Street in the Rivière-des-Prairies district in northeast Montreal.
Around 9:40 a.m., a 911 call came in for a man who had been pushed into a vehicle in the Center Laval parking lot, located on Le Corbusier Boulevard.
Officers dispatched to the scene received a description of the suspects and their vehicle and quickly located them near the mall.
A chase immediately ensued. The suspects and police specifically took Highway 25 around Fernand-Gauthier Street in Montreal’s Riviere-des-Prairies district.
One of the two suspects, a man in his thirties, was soon arrested. The victim, a 59-year-old man, was rescued and taken to hospital for examination.
We don’t know his condition. According to our information, it would be the owner or employee of a jewelry store, however, Laval Police Department spokeswoman Erica Landry could not confirm.
At the time of writing, police were trying to catch the other suspect in the area of rue Fernand-Gauthier and boulevard Berras.
