Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse has at least two different versions playing in theaters

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse editor Andrew Leviton has confirmed that there are at least two different versions of the movie playing in theaters.

Twitter user @employee He shared a side-by-side scene featuring Miguel O’Hara, AKA Spider-Man 2099, and his holographic companion Lyla, highlighting a slight difference in the two clips: one showing Lyla pointing at Miguel and the other with Lyla taking a selfie.

Eagle-eyed Spider-Verse fans noted that they saw the scene with the selfie during the film’s opening week, but the selfie shot was no longer there when they watched the film “the following week”, around the same time Sony Pictures replaced prints to fix audio problems.

Leviton didn’t reveal how many versions of the movie there are or why there are multiple versions, but backed it up further by sharing another note made by a Twitter user. @employeewho noted that Spot had “slightly different dialogue” in the hologram flashback.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has taken in $500 million worldwide – over $100 million more than Into the Spider-Verse. And now there may be a reason to buy another ticket, as there are likely to be more changes between the two known versions of the movie to discover.

IGN’s review of Across the Spider-Verse gave the film an 8/10, stating that the film is “a more than worthy follow-up to all-time classics” and that it “bursts with visual creativity and verve in an undeniably strong twist on the style established in Into the Spider-Verse.” “.
