57% of the members rejected the agreement given to them in the assembly. The latter lasted from Friday night to last Saturday between the union and the employer.

“Members decided to reject the agreement on policy grounds, considering it unsatisfactory,” union leader Martin Morris said in a statement on Tuesday. So we will notify the employer and we will return to the negotiating table, in the presence of further compromise. ”

Martin Petit, CSN’s public relations officer, said he could not comment further.

Keep in mind that the labor dispute began on April 28th. Several compromise sessions are required to reach an agreement in principle. Wages, working hours and the length of the collective agreement were at the center of the controversy.

The Olymel Vallée-Jonction Workers Union represents about 1,050 members.
