Britney Spears Speaks Out After Splitting With Husband Sam Asghari

Britney Spears broke her silence a day after the news spread that her husband, Sam Asghari, had filed for divorce.

pop icon Instagram took over Friday night, she wrote, “6 years is a long time to be with someone so I’m a little bit shocked but… I’m not here to explain why because honestly nobody cares!!! But I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly!!! Somehow it Telepathy, I have received many heart melting messages from friends and I thank you!!!”

She continued, “I’ve been playing strong for far too long and my Instagram may look perfect but it’s far from reality and I think we all know that!!! I like to show my feelings and tears about how I really feel but for some reason I always have to hide my weaknesses!!! If I wasn’t my dad’s strong soldier I would be sent away to places to get fixed by doctors!!!But that’s when I needed the family the most!!!You’re supposed to be loved unconditionally…Not with conditions!!!! So I will be as strong as I can be and do my best!!!And I am actually doing a very good job!!!Anyway have a nice day and don’t forget to smile!!!”

The couple’s split comes more than a year after they tied the knot in an intimate, star-studded ceremony at their Thousand Oaks home in June 2022. According to a divorce filing, which was obtained by Hollywood ReporterJuly 28 was listed as the date of their separation. Asghari cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.

Asghari shared a statement regarding their separation on his Instagram Stories on Thursday, writing, “After 6 years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together. We will hold on to the love and respect we have for each other and wish her the best always. Shit happens.” Asking for privacy sounds silly, so I’m going to ask everyone, including the media, to be kind and thoughtful.”

The model and fitness trainer’s representative also released a statement denying that Asghari had any intention of challenging his kiss and threatening to exploit Spears with the videos.

His rep, Brandon Cohen, told THR. However, all of these claims are false, as no negative intent has ever been directed towards them and never will be. Sam has always been supportive of her and always will be.”

Spears and Asghari met when he was hired in 2016 to work on one of her music videos. They dated for several years before getting engaged in September 2021 and married the following year. They were also together during the singer’s tenure before a Los Angeles County judge ruled to end the guardianship in November 2021.
