Matthew Perry’s ex-fiancée has paid tribute to the late actor, remembering the man who had a “profound influence” on her life.
Molly Horowitz, who was in a relationship with Perry from 2018 to 2021, posted a tribute to the “Friends” star on Monday. On Instagram.
“He would like the world to talk about how talented he is,” she began her post. “And he was really, really talented.”
Perry died on Saturday at his home in Los Angeles. He was 54 years old.
Horowitz, the literary director to whom Perry proposed in November 2020, wrote about watching Friends with him in anticipation of the cast’s 2021 reunion special.
According to Hurwitz, Perry’s response to his previous performance as Chandler Bing on the show was “Damn, you were so good!!!…See what I did there???”
“We reeled the scenes and studied them,” she wrote. “Our respect and appreciation for humor is the thing that connects us. Being with him as he rediscovered his brilliance was magical.

She also touched on the difficulties they faced in their time together, writing: “But obviously I knew this man in a very different way, too.”
“Although I loved him more deeply than I could understand,” Horowitz wrote, “he was complicated, and he caused pain I had never known before.” “No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry. I have enormous gratitude for that, and for everything I have learned from our relationship.
She pointed out Address, Which provides support to loved ones suffering from addiction. Perry has been open about his struggles with substance abuse and has been praised by many for how he tries to help others treat the disease of addiction.
She ended her post by saying: “Matty, I feel relieved that you are at peace.” “Sincerely, Mole o Rama (…silhouette).”
Perry and Horowitz ended their engagement in June 2021.
“Sometimes things don’t work out, and this is one of them,” Perry said in a statement at the time. “I wish Molly the best.”
Perry’s cause of death is under investigation by the Los Angeles Medical Examiner.
