Dell has put 120Hz panels in its latest UltraSharp monitors

Dell has announced four new UltraSharp monitors that have the potential to be good displays for gaming as well as playing on the brand’s traditional strength of offering accurate color displays for work. The two 27-inch displays have a resolution of 1440p, while the other two 24-inch displays have a resolution of 1080p. They all have IPS LCD displays with 120Hz refresh rates, double the 60Hz rate that Dell typically offers with its UltraSharp models.

Although 120Hz refresh rate monitors have traditionally been of most interest to gamers, who arguably benefit more from a monitor that refreshes twice as fast as a standard model, Dell is offering faster refresh rates in these UltraSharp models as part of a suite of features to enhance comfort visual and reduce eye strain. In addition to higher refresh rates, Dell says the displays emit significantly less “harmful blue light” than previous displays, and they also feature built-in ambient light sensors designed to read your room and adjust screen brightness and color tone as necessary. .

The two 27-inch monitors are the Dell UltraSharp 27 Monitor (U2724D) and the Dell UltraSharp 27 Thunderbolt Hub (U2724DE). Both have 16:9 LCD displays that cover 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color spectrum, but only the latter has a Thunderbolt 4 port that you can use to connect and charge a compatible laptop with up to 90W of power.
