Quebecers will have to arm themselves with shovels, as about fifteen centimeters of snow is expected in the south of the province.
According to Environment Canada, southern Quebec should first receive a mix of precipitation during the day, including sleet or freezing rain, when snow begins to fall Sunday evening.
Southern Quebec could see significant amounts of snow beginning Sunday evening. Even with temperatures near freezing, amounts could reach 15 centimeters or more,” the federal agency said.
In Catino, 15 to 20 cm of snow is expected starting Sunday afternoon. “During the heaviest hours, 2 to 4 cm of snow will fall per hour,” we read in a special weather press release issued by Environment Canada.
Rapid accumulation of snow could affect road conditions, especially during the Monday morning rush hour. So drivers should be patient and plan their journeys in urban areas.
