WWE announces that Kevin Owens suffered an injury on SmackDown

WWE has provided an injury update on WWE “SmackDown” superstar, Kevin Owens, as he was injured last Friday during his match against Grayson Waller. Per X Promotions (formerly Twitter) announced that Owens had fractured his fourth and fifth metatarsals.

For a while now, Waller and Austin Theory have been hassling Owens, and last week’s SmackDown was no different. Theory interfered in the match and stomped on Owens’ right hand on the ring steps. Waller then targeted Owens’ hand throughout the match. While Owens picked up the win over Waller, the damage had already been done.

Logan Paul also announced on the December 1 episode that Owens would be part of an eight-man tournament that would determine the next challenger to face the United States Champion. Waller and Theory are also listed, along with Santos Escobar, Karrion Kross, Bobby Lashley, and Dragon Lee. There is one name unknown at this time. During the commercial, Owens also confronted Paul and ended up punching Theory in the face.

Paul would later do commentary for the Owens vs. Waller match. He had a photo of himself, Waller, and a theory taken by an anguished Owens – making fun of the whole situation. Waller later shared the photo on X with the caption, “Good Blokes.”

While things look bleak for Owens right now, last night’s win was his second recent victory over his two current opponents. The previous week, on the November 24 episode, Owens teamed with L.A. Knight to defeat Waller and Theory.
