N-95 Masks: “Increased Usage” Requested by CNESST

The “increased use” of N-95 masks for workers in the health network was demanded by the Standards, Equities, Health and Safety at Work (CNESST) Committee on Friday.

A meeting between CNESST and various partners was held on Thursday to address concerns about the safety of health workers in the face of the recent outbreak of COVID-19 cases and the spread of the Omigron variant.

“Currently CNESST is sensitive to the reality of health workers not having to wear an N-95 mask because they are out in warm or hot areas, but provide care in the most extreme situations. They are at risk,” the organization said. Press release.

CNESST therefore calls on workers to extend the use of these masks to “most dangerous situations, including certain situations in cold areas.”

The wearing of the N-95 mask for health workers in warmer zones was requested by the CNESST in February 2021, which was extended to one month later in the dull zones.
