Comedian Nick Swardson is still ready to perform in Aspen tonight, even after being escorted off stage in Beaver Creek over the weekend, following strange behavior during his set.

Swardson had only performed a 20-minute performance when he was escorted off the stage Sunday at the Vilar Center for the Performing Arts. Videos posted on Social media posts appear Audience members booed the comedian known for his characters in Adam Sandler films, as well as his appearance in “Reno 911!” And many Comedy Central projects.

The sudden end came after awkward pauses, semi-coherent statements, and arguments with the audience.

In a statement issued Monday morning, Swardson, 47, blamed alcohol and cannabis use for his behavior. “I just woke up to TMZ.” Written on X. “Travel tip: Don't drink or eat foods at high altitudes. (Expletive) brain diarrhea. I'll make it up to you Beaver Creek!”

Witnesses said some attendees “were uncomfortable with Swardson's behavior, while others welcomed him.” TMZ reported. “In one clip that has since surfaced online, a woman in the audience can be heard teasing him and asking: ‘What were you smoking before the show?’”

“We have decided to close the show early for the benefit of those who purchased tickets,” the venue’s director of operations, according to the videos, told the theater. We apologize for what you saw tonight. Please email the box office. We will respond to inquiries and process credits and refunds.

“We apologize for the negative experience you may have had at this evening's show with Nick Swardson,” the promoters subsequently wrote in an email to ticket holders. “Unfortunately, this show did not meet the standards of the Vilar Center for the Performing Arts as a world-class provider of the performing arts.”
