Clash at an apartment complex: 3 people injured and around a hundred people evacuated from the building

Around a hundred people were evacuated from a building in Saint-Laurent borough overnight after a fight broke out in a house.

A collision at an apartment on Crépeau Street, which was broken into, was reported to the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) around 4 a.m. Sunday.

A fight broke out between about twenty people on the street in front of the apartment block on Sunday morning, forcing the evacuation of the building due to a fire alarm, TVA Novellas said on the scene on Sunday morning.

The clash resulted in three injuries, SPVM spokeswoman Sabrina Gauthier told TVA Nouvelles.

When the police arrived, the fire alarm sounded and the entire building was evacuated. According to the spokesperson, the latter conducted a thorough search of the building as one or more armed men may still be inside the building.

A large security perimeter has been erected around the site and work is progressing smoothly.
