Dragon's Dogma 2 1,050 major patch adds 'start new game', option to cap 30fps, and more

Capcom has released the first major update for Dragon's Dogma 2, adding some important features to the game.

Update 1.050, available now on PC via Steam and PlayStation 5, and on Xbox Series Inexplicably, Dragon's Dogma 2 launched without this option Soon modders forced it into the PC version.

Elsewhere, Capcom has increased the number of Art of Metamorphosis items available in Pawn Guilds to 99. Art of Metamorphosis allows you to modify your character, which is One of many day-one microtransactions that Capcom currently sells for real money.

Meanwhile, Dragon's Dogma 2 on console gets several graphics and performance options, including toggle motion blur and ray tracing. More importantly, Capcom has added the option to toggle the frame rate to variable or a maximum of 30 fps. Players have criticized the frame rate in Dragon's Dogma 2, which Capcom said was related to the stress placed on CPUs by a large number of NPCs. It's worth noting that Capcom said that toggling motion blur and ray tracing doesn't significantly improve the game's frame rate, but significant improvements are coming more in the future.

Despite controversy over microtransactions and backlash over the game's performance, especially on PC, Dragon's Dogma 2 is Capcom's biggest single-player game launch on Steam, with an impressive 228,585 concurrent peak.
