A total solar eclipse will pass across North America on Monday (April 8). For those who want to watch the celestial event live on TV or online, we've put together a collection of ways to watch and stream the celestial event.

About a third of the US states will be in Path of a solar eclipse It begins in the South Pacific Ocean and over Mexico before heading north through several states including Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Kentucky. The eclipse's path will make its way through parts of the Midwest including Ohio, Missouri, Indiana and the Northeast, passing through Philadelphia and New York before ending in Maine.

Eclipse 2024 schedule: When and where it goes live

No need for sunglasses! You can watch the solar eclipse live on your TV, smartphone, computer and other streaming devices.

Where can you stream the solar eclipse online? Eclipse coverage will be broadcast live on platforms such as Holo and Disney+ starting at 2 PM ET/11 AM PT on Monday.

The solar eclipse will also be broadcast live on network television and cable channels such as ABC, NBC and CNN. If you want to stream live TV without cable, DirecTV, Sling TV, and Fubo have affordable streaming packages with access to dozens of local and cable channels.

ABC, CNN, and NBC are a few of the networks that will broadcast and stream eclipse coverage across Monday. Most coverage will extend for at least two hours.

It will be broadcast on ABC Eclipse across America Live at 2 p.m. ET. The special will also be available on ABC News Live, the National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo Wild.

Eclipse coverage will be broadcast Live on CNN From locations across the United States and Mexico during a special episode of CNN News Central 1 to 4 p.m. ET.

You can stream the eclipse live with CNN on Max. Coverage will also be available to stream online at CNN.com/Eclipse.

NBC's coverage of the solar eclipse will be broadcast in a special two-hour episode. Total eclipse 2024, at 2 p.m. ET on Monday. The special will also air on NBC News Now.

How to watch a solar eclipse on Hulu and Disney+

ABC will stream simulcast coverage of the 2024 solar eclipse live on Hulu and Disney+ starting at 2 p.m. ET. If you're not a Hulu subscriber, you can join for free for the first month.

Hulu's streaming plans start at $7.99 per month for the basic package and $1.99 per month with the student discount.

Disney+ costs $9.99 for the basic plan but there's also a Disney+ Bundle Duo with Hulu for $9.99 per month, or a Bundle Trio with ESPN+ for $14.99 per month.

How to watch a solar eclipse with NASA

NASA will Display coverage for the solar eclipse on its website, as well as on NASA TV and NASA+ starting at 1 p.m. ET. In addition to the eclipse, NASA's broadcast will include appearances by NASA experts and astronauts, and coverage of eclipse viewing parties across the United States.

Additionally, NASA will host a Spanish-language watch party on its YouTube page starting at 1:30 p.m. ET. To stream the solar eclipse live, head to NASA page on YouTube Or the NASA satellite media channel.

The solar eclipse will also be available to watch live on social media channel platforms such as TikTok, X and Facebook.
