Quebec's position is unenviable. forecast.
In short:
-
Quebec is on a bad track;
-
Many systems will pass within a week;
-
The southern part of the province sees a strong contrast.
April sets the tone
The gray weather that Quebec experienced in April is expected to continue in the coming days. In fact, many systems pass through Quebec when the province is on a disadvantageous path. Gray weather will dominate for the next seven days, though the expected rainfall will not be heavy.
One after the other system
On Thursday, a disturbance will move out of the region after producing showers and thunderstorms. Then, starting at the weekend, a system both complex and imposing risks spoiling the holiday with rain on the schedule. Western parts of the province will experience rain on Saturday. Rain is expected in most areas on Sunday. By the middle of next week, models indicate another system could cross Quebec.

Unfavorable environment
At the origin of this unfavorable situation for Quebec is the play of air masses. At this time of year, the vortex is closer to the pole and arctic air still flows to our latitudes. With heat in the south and cold in the north, high-altitude winds take a path that brings the disturbances home. It is desirable to remove the obstruction so that a crevice is formed to allow heat and fine weather to settle.
