On June 20, a major police operation freed around ten women from the Motel Saint-Jacques, an establishment where many vulnerable people were exploited.
After this intervention by the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) in a motel located in the Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de district, the women were taken care of by health network workers -thanks, Nuevo Info.
This operation is one of the largest in the recent history of the SPVM, which indicates that around sixty agents were stationed at the scene, in addition to responders and social workers from the Health Network and the Assistance Center for Victims of Crime (CAVAC).
When they arrived at the scene, officers of the tactical intervention team found four unconscious and intoxicated men in an apartment and about ten women between the ages of 18 and 35, some of whom had been sexually exploited, others in serious condition. The motel owner and an employee were arrested and face pimping and drug charges. Motel Saint-Jacques remains under the supervision of the SPVM until further notice.
