The No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft finished with eight points, a Summer League-high, in the Lakers’ 99-80 loss to the Houston Rockets on Friday in Las Vegas.

With the loss, the Lakers lost their fourth straight game this summer after losing all three of their games in the California Summer Classic last week.
In addition to his eight points — his best scoring output of the summer — which came on 3-of-14 shooting, James once again showed he can impact a game with his defense. Entering the night averaging 3.5 rebounds per game, James added five defensive rebounds and two steals to his stat line. James made none of his eight shots from three-point range on Friday, some of which were inches or two short of the mark.
He made a stunning dunk in the first quarter, finishing off a pass from the Lakers’ 2024 first-round pick Dalton Knecht.
When the Summer League is complete, James will join his father, four-time NBA Finals champion and league Most Valuable Player LeBron James, as the first father-son duo to play for the same team at the same time in NBA history.
Next up, Bronny James and the Lakers (0-4) will face the Boston Celtics on Monday at 7:30 p.m. ET at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
