“The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility informs road users that Highway 13 has now reopened to traffic between Highways 40 and 520,” MTQ pointed out in a press release.
Overnight cleanup work was carried out between Highways 40 and 520 near the Montreal-Trudeau Airport to allow for the reopening of this critical highway in both directions.
However, MTQ plans to close the A-13 between the 40 and 520 freeways to allow work to continue over the weekend to restore the water station.
On Wednesday morning, the Minister of Public Safety, François Bonnardel, spoke at a press conference about the “possible” reopening of this section of the A-13, which is normally very busy with motorists.
In addition, the electricity network and the pumping system were damaged by the flood, which complicates the work of the authorities, the spokesman of the Ministry of Transport, Gilles Baier, pointed out in an interview with “Sult Bonjour”.
“Pumping it requires a system that was damaged by the flash flood on Friday August 9,” said Mr. Bayer said. We brought generators, we brought extra pumps.
