Lincoln’s massive digital dashboard fits into the new Navigator

Lincoln is making a big change to its largest vehicle by adding a panoramic display across the dashboard. The 2025 Navigator SUV is the automaker’s second vehicle to get Ford’s Android-based digital dashboard, with the first being introduced in the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus.

The new Navigator, which debuts during Monterey Car Week, takes the Nautilus panoramic display (technically, it’s two screens) from the Lincoln Digital Experience and drops it in a sleeker, more open style, adding contrasting speakers on the sides. Meanwhile, the same continuous, curved screens in the Nautilus move from pillar to pillar, look more integrated, and their trim matches the doors.

The Navigator and Nautilus have the same setup functionally, says Annika Salceda-Wycoco, Lincoln’s communications manager. However, the Navigator has a new entertainment feature called Pano Mode, which Salceda-Wycoco says “provides the ability to stream video and games to both sides of the 48-inch panoramic display.”

Surprisingly, Pano mode isn’t available on the Nautilus, which can only play games and movies on the smaller center touchscreen — but that could change. “We’re talking about it first on the Navigator and we’ll have more to share in the future,” says Salceda-Wicco. The Navigator is also the first to get Lincoln’s “Rejuvenate mode” spa experience, which was announced for the 2024 Nautilus but didn’t arrive at launch.

Rejuvenation Mode adds sounds and scenery like the Aurora Borealis to the screens, reclines your seat, turns on massagers and heaters, and pumps out air freshener scents for five or 10 minutes. Salceda-Wycoco says the 2025 Nautilus will also get this feature at launch, while Lincoln has “more to share about timing soon” for the current 2024 model year. The Navigator will include a waterfall meditation experience in partnership with the Calm app, which will also drop owners of a free one-year subscription.

Move to the middle row of the Navigator, and you’ll find a choice of adjustable captain’s chairs with a host of front-row features (including massagers), two touchscreens for entertainment, a 5.8-inch central climate control screen, and more. Beyond the fold-flat third-row seats is a split-level tailgate that can be opened for you as you approach.

The Navigator gets a bit of a fresh look on the outside, too, with a refreshed fascia that looks more in line with the new Nautilus, including the light bar that cuts across the middle. Unfortunately, the Navigator doesn’t get much better under the hood this year; it’s still a big gas truck powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 with no hybrid option like the Nautilus.

Lincoln has said it plans to launch three all-new electric vehicles by 2025 and a fourth by 2026. But earlier this year, the brand’s CEO seems very pessimistic About those deadlines.
