The late-night host also addressed speculation about Beyoncé’s appearance.

Kamala Harris accepted the Democratic nomination for president last night at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, but not without some comments from Republican nominee Donald Trump. Jon Stewart had some thoughts on all of this during his broadcast Daily Offer In a live broadcast from the Democratic National Convention, the Trump campaign eventually concluded that Trump had “turned into poor cat litter.”

During the episode, Stewart began talking about fans’ disappointment that Beyoncé wasn’t at the convention. Joking that there would be a special guest, he showed a clip of Michigan Rep. Elissa Slotkin at the Democratic National Convention. Stewart confirmed, “I thought it was Beyoncé because everyone thought Beyoncé was going to be there, but it was Slotkin the whole time. Everyone knew.”

Stewart spoke about Harris’s speech, noting how great it was that we finally got to meet “the communist Kamala, the radical we’ve heard so much about.” He added, “If I were Donald Trump right now, I’d probably just be tweeting nonsense to distract from the fact that she doesn’t look like the caricature that’s been painted. By the way, that’s what he does.”

The host then went through tweets Trump had sent, including “Walz was an assistant coach, not a coach” and “Are you talking about me?” Stewart responded: “I swear to God the guy running for president on the Republican ticket turned into some poor man’s cat shit.”

The show also brought in Jason Bateman to narrate a segment about Harris being “normal.” The segment featured several memorable, bizarre moments from the Trump campaign and outgoing President Joe Biden before Bateman noted that after “the general feeling that we’re trapped in a sadistic circus in the eighth circle of hell, it’s time for America to get back to normal. It’s time for Kamala Harris. Just normal.”
