Mariah Carey Didn’t Talk To Sister Before Her Death: Report

Mariah Carey reportedly had no contact with her sister Alison in the last month of her life despite being told she was dying, a friend of the late singer’s sister claims.

Dave Baker, who says he was a friend of Alison’s for many years and helped provide her with end-of-life care, spoke about Alison’s final days in an interview with The sun.

Allison and Carrie’s mother, Patricia, died on the same day last weekend.

“Alison was unhappy that her ‘little sister’ had cut off contact with her,” Baker told the newspaper.

“I talked about it a lot. I wondered if Maria or any of her relatives would be at her funeral. I was told that a memorial service was planned for a future date, but nothing at the moment.”

He also claimed that Carey “never attempted to contact Allison, even after she was told a month earlier that Allison was dying.”

“A phone call or video call would have meant a lot to Alison, but it never came,” he said.

Baker mocked Carey’s reaction to her sister’s death. The alleged friend added: “And now Mariah is grieving the loss of her mother and ex-sister. This cruel rejection has added more pain to Alison’s pain.”

According to Baker, “Allison was receiving home care for the last three weeks of her life” and “had an internal organ problem.”

Remembering Allison, he said, “Despite her tough exterior, Allison was a very intelligent, warm and sensitive person.”

“I have known her for nine years, as a friend and in recent months as a caregiver, I will miss her very much,” he continued.

Allison’s self-admitted struggle with addiction is said to have been a point of contention for Carey, with sources telling TMZ The singer “put up a wall” because she felt she needed to show her sister some “tough love” and not disempower her. According to sources, the “Always Be My Baby” singer has previously tried to support her sister emotionally and financially but to no avail.

Although reports indicated that she had no contact with her sister in the end, Carey spent the last week with her mother, Patricia, as she lay dying, according to TMZ.

Based on available information, it appears that Allison was 63 years old and Patricia was 84 years old when they died. The causes of their deaths are not yet known.

The newspaper has reached out to Carey’s representative.

Following the deaths of her sister and mother, Carey released a statement on Monday, August 26, saying, “My heart is broken because I lost my mother last weekend.”

“Unfortunately, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day,” Carrie added.

“I am so grateful to have been able to spend the last week with my mother before she passed away. I appreciate everyone’s love, support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time.”

In her 2020 memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, Carey detailed her difficult relationship with her family members, and shockingly, she accused Allison of giving her Valium when she was just 12 years old.

Allison later filed a lawsuit. Her famous sister, alleging “the intentional infliction of immense emotional distress by the defendant’s cruel, malicious, vindictive, vile and completely unnecessary public humiliation of her already deeply damaged older sister.”
