It has been the Olympic Stadium’s policy to stop administering anti – COVID – 19 doses from April 7, more than a month after the vaccination center at the Polis des Congress was closed. Officials promise a local “new vaccine offer” in the East.

CIUSSS de l’Est-de-l’Île points out that “after more than a year of activity, vaccination teams at the Olympic Stadium have delivered 1,040,232 doses of vaccine against COVID-19.” -D-Montreal confirms the news in a press release on Friday afternoon.
As of next Thursday, citizens wishing to be vaccinated must now go to the “various CLSCs” in the region. Eight local community service centers have already been designated as local vaccination points “with or without appointment.” Meetings at the Olympic Stadium after April 7 will be redirected to these locations.

Valerie Lafleur, CIUSSS’s mouthpiece, confirms that “such a large installation is sure to cause a decline in traffic that is no longer justified, but above all to get closer to people in different neighborhoods”, talking about the “new local vaccination strategy” being implemented across Quebec.
His team reminds us that the vaccine against COVID-19 is “the best way to protect against its variants, such as disease and BA.2 type”, and that it “applies to everyone 5 years of age and older, regardless of immigration status”.
In Quebec, the vaccination campaign is gaining momentum in recent days. On Thursday, nearly 20,900 additional doses were administered, mostly third-dose. So far, the province has delivered nearly 19 million doses since the outbreak of the Govt-19 epidemic, including those vaccinated outside the province.
Last February, the vaccination center at the Palais des congrès de Montreal also announced that it would close its doors permanently for a week, following a significant drop in the number of doses administered there. The center has not been operational since February 24.
