The city of Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce won its case this week, with the Supreme Court ruling in its fight against junk food.

The court refused to hear an appeal by a group of fast food companies opposed to Borough to limit the locations where such restaurants are set up.
“That’s great news. For us, it gives us comfort that as a local government we have a responsibility to provide people with healthy lifestyle choices,” the mayor declared. In an interview with C -te d’Ivoire-Notre-Dame-de-Grace, Gracia Kasoki Katawa, TVA Novellas.
This is good news for the mayor, and for municipal politics in general.
“It sends a strong signal that we are responsible for the health of our citizens,” she said.
The elected official hopes that the Supreme Court’s ruling will be followed by other cities and municipalities.
