OnePlus has it The OnePlus 12 has been officially launched in China, and its top-spec model comes with more RAM than I had in a gaming desktop until very recently. Although the base model of the flagship smartphone comes with 12GB of RAM along with 256GB of storage, opting for the top variant gets Chinese buyers 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. OnePlus is yet to confirm configurations when it launches internationally in “early 2024”.
The phone’s RAM isn’t the only spec that draws attention. Charging speeds are fast too, with support for 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging (a feature that was completely missing on the OnePlus 11). Based on our experience with the previous OnePlus 11, 100W fast charging will likely translate to 80W in the US. The OnePlus 12 battery has a rated capacity of 5,400 mAh.
In terms of cameras, the OnePlus 12 has a triple rear setup consisting of a 50-megapixel main lens, a 64-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Naturally, it carries the Hasselblad branding again, and is joined by a 32-megapixel selfie camera. The phone runs on the latest flagship processor from Qualcomm, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Available colors include green, white and black, and the phone carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, which is an additional step above the IP64 rating found on the OnePlus 11. This means in practice that its protection from dust and other solid particles is the same, but it must now be protected against water jets, instead Than just a splash of water.
OnePlus has yet to confirm an exact date for the phone’s international launch beyond “early 2024,” but rumors suggest we’ll see Launching in late January. In China, the phone’s price starts at 4,299 yen (about $606) for its entry-level model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and rises to 5,799 yen (about $818) if you want the full 24GB/storage experience. 1 TB. International prices have not been announced yet.
