Aang and Ga(a)ng are back in live action – and this time… maybe it'll be okay?

Netflix's live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender It was first announced in 2018. The series' original creators, Michael DiMartino and Brian Konietzko, are on board to reimagine the series in live-action (and hopefully do better than M. Night Shyamalan's film). The hype was real, but that all changed when these two left the production after two years, explaining that the vision for the Netflix series didn't align with the “spirit and integrity of the work.” symbol pictureThey have since continued to announce new animated projects in the Avatar-verse.
New creative team led by Sleepy HollowNetflix's Albert Kim took over the show on Netflix. Michael Joy (Riverdale), Jabbar Rissani (Lost in space), and Roseanne Liang (shadow in the cloud) Also join as directors. The main cast includes Gordon Cormier (Platform(such as ang, kyawentiyo)Anne with E) in the role of Katara, Ian Owsley as Sokka, and Dallas Liu (Pen15) Like Zuko. The four relative newcomers are joined by heavy hitters including Daniel Dae Kim, Amber Midthunder, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Danny Pudi and George Takei.
Avatar: The Last Airbender Premieres on Netflix on February 22.
