A sex predator who randomly sexually assaulted a number of women in parks has admitted disturbing behavior that needs to be ‘reduced’ before he can be sentenced.

In the winter of 2022, the presence of a man outside a Duchesnay tourist resort created a wave of concern after assaulting two women.
Although the threat was taken very seriously by the Sûreté du Québec, it took several months for Mathieu Arsenault to finally get out of harm’s way.
The first occurred in March when a woman with young cross-country skiers in Duchesne was stopped by a man who asked for directions.
Without warning, the 28-year-old approached the woman she wanted to help and leaned in to kiss her.
The 43-year-old victim, who was accompanied by a young man, freed herself from the assailant’s arms and fled to report the incident to the authorities.
However, a second, more serious sexual assault occurred ten days later on the Duchesne’s cross-country ski trails.
In the middle of the forest, the man intercepts a cross-country skier for directions. Without warning, a stranger tried to kiss a 57-year-old woman who fell to the ground.
Arsenault then pulled down the woman’s pants and inserted his finger into her private parts. In an attempt to escape from her assailant’s grip, the latter offered Arsenault to masturbate him, which he accepted. The victim ran with his gloves on until he saw other cross country skiers approaching and screaming for help.
On the same day, the hunter attacked another woman, the owner of a stable, who had gone on the pretext of buying firewood. The woman pushed him away with a spade.
During the same period, the accomplice of the accused also filed a complaint against him after he was assaulted. Invited by the victim to watch a movie, Arsenault insisted on getting closer, but the woman refused.
“I’m going to show you what I want,” the accused said, grabbing the struggling woman’s arms. At last it was the latter’s dog that snarled the aggression that presented itself as an attack.
Media coverage of the sex predator later allowed a victim to identify Mathieu Arsenault in Lewis Park in June 2022 to attack him for free. Once again, the hound kisses him saying that he has found the key.
A sugar bush owner who hired Arsenault in January 2022 but was assaulted by the accused while he was with him in the forest, lodged a complaint.
The 28-year-old pleaded guilty to five counts of sexual assault and one count of assault. The latter has no history and his lawyer, Mee Stephanie Pelletier-Gurion, has requested a pre-sentence report that makes this “isolated” episode in Arsenault’s life “unnecessary”.
So he has been in jail since June and will return in December for a sentencing hearing.
