According to Global News, citing unnamed sources, Superintendent Scott Baptiste is being investigated for sexual misconduct in connection with his relationship with a woman. It will be a civilian employee, the “Toronto Star” said.

Toronto police spokeswoman Stephanie Sayer confirmed Scott’s suspension and the appointment of a new acting superintendent pending an investigation into the incident.

A high-profile lawyer with more than 35 years of service and already awarded for his entire career, he noted to the “Star” that he trusts the process. “However, he categorically denies any wrongdoing,” Joseph Markson assured me.

CACP spokeswoman Natalie Wright also said the incident is under investigation.

“We are fully supporting and cooperating with this investigation. “CACP condemns inappropriate or illegal behavior by police officers at any time, including at CACP events,” he stressed.

No formal charges have been filed against Scott Baptiste at this time.

This is the third time this year that a Toronto police superintendent has been relieved of his duties. In January, Superintendent Riaz Hussain was charged with impaired driving following a crash on Highway 401. Superintendent Stacey Clark is facing charges of professional misconduct for actions she took to get a promotion.
