Abby Choi: ex-husband and relatives accused of murdering Hong Kong model Abby Choi

Hong Kong (CNN) Four members of the same family have been charged in connection with the horrific murder Hong Kong model Abby Choi She appeared in court on Monday, after police said they found what are believed to be parts of her severed body, public broadcaster RTHK reported.

Choi’s ex-husband Alex Kwong, 28, his brother Anthony, 31, and their father Kwong Kau, 65, have been charged with her murder. RTHK reports that Alex Kwong’s mother Jenny Lee, 63, is accused of perverting the course of justice.

On Monday, the Kowloon City Magistrates Court denied bail to the four, according to RTHK. They are still to enter the appeal.

On Sunday, police said, investigators located a skull, several ribs and hair in a large stainless steel bowl believed to be Choi’s remains. Other body parts, including Choi’s torso and hands, are still missing.

It follows a police investigation launched on Wednesday after Choi, 28, was reported missing. Two days later, the police said, parts of her body were found in a house in the city’s Tai Po district. Police said a meat cutter, an electric saw and some clothes were found in the house.

Police said Choi’s ex-husband was arrested on Saturday at a ferry pier on one of the city’s remote islands. His brother and parents were arrested on Friday.

Police said a fifth suspect, a 47-year-old woman, was arrested on Sunday in connection with the case.

Choi, a model and social media influencer with over 100,000 followers on Instagram, recently appeared as the digital cover model for luxury magazine L’Officiel Monaco and attended this year’s Paris Fashion Week.

RTHK reported that the court had postponed the case until May 8 to allow for further police investigations.
