One person was killed and another was injured in a work-related accident near Riviere-Matane on Route 195 Thursday afternoon.
The accident took place around 4 pm when the two vehicles involved in the accident were cleaning the road in the area. SQ spokesperson Ève Brochu-Joubert notes that the two vehicles were following each other and, for reasons to be confirmed, the vehicle behind (the pick-up) collided with the engine sweeper.
A 60-year-old man in the rear vehicle was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. His death was finally confirmed by authorities on Friday morning. Second, there were more minor injuries.
A patrol officer trained in collision investigation went to the scene to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
