AEW is dynamite Advertised The Young Bucks are broadcasting real-life footage of the famous brawl between CM Punk and Jack Perry from last year's AEW All In pay-per-view. After much speculation that this would be a bait-and-switch, with The Young Bucks potentially attacking the AEW crowd, the legendary tag team ended up trolling themselves. AEW aired real behind-the-scenes footage of WWE contract wrestler CM Punk Hit Hell from one of its four corners.
The Young Bucks clip was a direct response to CM Punk telling his side of the story to Ariel Helwani regarding Brawl In. Unfortunately for Tony Khan and AEW, the footage was largely consistent with CM Punk's story. If anything, he made CM Punk look tougher than he let on in a one-sided fight that didn't last more than 30 seconds before he broke up.
At a show that attracted fewer than 3,000 fans, AEW continues to book storylines and post them online. If AEW doesn't grow quickly, AEW's insistence on relying on online wrestling storylines will spell the end of it.

Strickland got into a brawl with Samoa Joe
Wisely, AEW didn't kick off its show with exclusive footage from AEW All In. It's very likely that this will be saved for the main event, so the small online audience interested in this will have to wait.
Samoa Joe vs. Dustin Rhodes was scheduled to start at Dynamite, but Joe was jumped by Swerve Strickland who did a number on the AEW World Champion. The AEW announce team had to act like they were caught off guard and the show was pushed back from schedule.
Deviation against atmosphere quarrel grade: b
Adam Copeland Dave. Daughter of Zero Mido
Penta El Zero Miedo (kayfabe) withdrew unprepared to compete against Adam Copeland early in the show.
After coming out of the break, there was a map overlay on the screen. I don't think this was a situation like WWE's vague vignette from Raw After Mania. This looked like a legitimate mistake by AEW. Time will tell.
The fans chanted “Let's go Adam” as Pinta El Zero Mido remained in control.
There was a 20-minute countdown to The Young Bucks' much-talked about segment at around 5:18 PM PT. Excalibur said the countdown could change due to this match's 30-minute time limit.
Penta El Zero Miedo took control of most of this match – at one point Excalibur referred to her as the “dominant leader” – which made it less surprising when he lost.
After Copeland won, Brody King broke up the match to attack Copeland. This led to The House of Black facing Copeland, Eddie Kingston and Jay Brisco at AEW Dynasty.
In what quickly became the funniest gimmick in AEW, Katsuyori Shibata used a translator to ask Rene Paquette “What's his deal?” After a promo from Chris Jericho. Shibata then used the same translator to complete Paquette's contract.
Footage from The Young Bucks Air CM Punk vs. Jack Perry match from AEW All In
The Young Bucks talked about their popular Brawl In video match As real as the glass that caused that fight. Nick Jackson said that the Young Bucks were distracted by what happened backstage, which is why they lost to FTR at All In. They point to Jack Perry as a scapegoat. If you don't like Jack Berry, that's a problem with you, Matt Jackson said. Without mentioning CM Punk's name, they said that the person who fought with Perry was a friend of FTR.
The Young Bucks aired the footage, and as many expected, it was more of a fight than CM Punk said it would be, but not enough for Tony Khan to fear for his life. Punk told Ariel Helwani:I didn't punch anyoneI choked someone a little. That's basically what happened, although Punk did throw a punch or two.
After the footage, FTR cut a pro AEW promo Similar to Copeland last week. To their credit, the group eventually managed to get the crowd on their side despite the awkward energy in the arena. If there's one nice thing I can say about this inside baseball angle, it's that AEW did their best to make it part of the current storyline between The Young Bucks and FTR.

Shane Taylor Promotions Def. Lionhawk and Katsuyori Shibata
Ospreay will cut a Strong promotion As he continued to talk about the amount of wrestling we will see between him and Bryan Danielson in AEW Dynasty. He once again described AEW as “where the best wrestling is.” If only this match had a real human story beyond two men rolling around a mat.
Katsuyori Shibata dominated this match when he trapped Lee Moriarty in a Sleeper Hold. But due to an argument between Chris Jericho and Hawk, Shane Taylor broke the control and Moriarty was able to find an opportunity and win the match.
STP vs. LionHOOK and Shibata Grade: B-
Kazuchika Okada Dave. Cristiano Argento
This was a squash match that Kazuchika Okada won easily. After the match, Okada accepted PAC's challenge. PAC faced Okada, but the Young Bucks came to the ring to the tune of “CM Punk.” That's right, these heels have messed up and booked CM Punk to become the top babyface in the company.
The Young Bucks hit EVP Trigger on PAC. No one really cared because a lot of the heat went to CM Punk. It didn't help that the crowd was small.
I wonder how many casual fans think this is a setup for Punk's return, because believe me when I say he won't be returning to AEW anytime soon. Punk will return to WWE in the ring before returning to AEW and the man is currently out of the ring due to a serious triceps injury. What a mess.
Kazuchika Okada vs. Cristiano Argento Grade: C
Maria May Dave. I'm coming
Toni Storm and Thunder Rosa engaged in a champagne toast which ended with Storm throwing champagne in Rosa's face and hitting her.
Mariah May and Anna Jay went back and forth, with May eventually defeating Jay with a roll-up. After the match, Mina Shirakawa poured champagne into Maria Mai's mouth and kissed her again.
Backstage, after an interview with Mercedes Moon, the lights went out and Moon was attacked. I have a strong feeling that this is what Chris Statlander did.
Maria May vs. Anna Jay Grade: B
Samoa Joe Dave. Dustin Rhodes
AEW went into a picture-in-picture, and when they came out, Rhodes was a bloody mess.
Near the end of the match, Rhodes took out the AEW Championship, prompting a disqualification. Rhodes came to his senses and tossed the belt aside, leading to a Rhodes Crossover. Surprisingly, this did not lead to “Cody” chants. They continued to rally behind Dustin.
Whether AEW was trying to capitalize on the Cody Rhodes storyline or not, Dustin gave it his all in a brutal match against Samoa Joe.
Samoa Joe won by hitting Dustin Rhodes with the championship belt behind the referee's back. After the match, an angry Swerve Strickland attacked Joe again while Samoa Joe escaped as Jack Perry after his backstage fight with Punk.
