(Montreal) Montreal police are investigating a man who was assaulted with a weapon where a man was assaulted by multiple people.
The attack happened around 1:15 a.m. Saturday on Esplanade Avenue near Chapelle Street West in the Borough of Hansik-Cartierville.
“When police arrived at the scene, they found the victim, a 29-year-old man. He suffered an upper body injury from a blunt object,” said Constable Caroline Chevrefils, spokesperson for the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
The victim was taken to hospital, but his life is not feared. According to the SPVM spokesperson, a conflict would have the appearance of aggression.
“The suspects fled in a vehicle. This footage has been preserved for investigators and forensic identification technicians so they can try to understand the exact circumstances of this attack,” said Agent Chevrefils.
The police interrogated the eyewitnesses of the incident. It was a call to 911 that alerted them.
No arrests were made. SPVM investigation continues.
