Ann Heshe’s family issued a statement on Friday afternoon, following news that the artist had been removed from life support equipment and made available to her members to donate as she had wished.
“We have lost a bright light, a kind and happy soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend,” the statement read. “Ann will be sorely missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic figure of work, and her emotional calling. Her courage to always stand up for who she really is, and to spread her message of love and acceptance, will continue to make a lasting impact.”
