The Vision Pro will arrive at the end of next week, and with pre-orders closing for the first customers, eBay listings are piling up with exorbitant prices. Here's how much speculators are hoping to get for Apple's new headphone.
Speculators have become a frequent part of Apple launches over the years. Especially with Apple launching its first headphones, listings have become plentiful on eBay. Even before Apple opened pre-orders for the Vision Pro, scalpers were setting up listings on eBay.
But with sellers now able to include pre-order confirmation, more and more listings are popping up. Some are asking for a premium of up to $1,000 plus a $3,499 MSRP, but at the high end, some scalpers have listed the Vision Pro at $10,000.
At the time of writing, there are over 1,500 listings for the Apple Vision Pro on eBay alone. It may seem strange why so many are trying to sell out their pre-orders when Apple still has launch day stock available in many stores. But perhaps these brokers are trying to attract international buyers since the launch of Apple's headphones is only happening in the US.
As you might expect, using the Vision Pro abroad before official Apple support will have its challenges:
While plenty of speculators are happy with the price cuts, some Vision Pro listings currently have bids at or below the official starting price of $3,499. Time will tell if there is enough supply on eBay that buyers will be able to get a “deal.”
