A woman was stabbed Saturday morning in Lachine Borough.
According to preliminary information from the Service de police de la Ville de Montreal (SPVM), a 911 call was made around 11 a.m. about a woman with upper body injuries on Camille Street near Ouellette Avenue.
Police arrived and found a 30-year-old woman with stab wounds. The latter was conscious and was quickly taken care of by emergency-sandé. The woman was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries, but is said to be in non-life-threatening condition.
“According to initial information, she may have been a victim of an attack […] in an apartment,” said SPVM spokeswoman Véronique Dubuc.
Shortly after their arrival, police arrested a 47-year-old suspect with a criminal record on various charges.
Investigators are in the direction of analyzing the scene.
Two simultaneous events
When police went to the scene of the attack, they saw a man throw an object through the window of the apartment on rue Camille. It turned out to be a modified pellet gun. Soon after, the forty-year-old suspect was arrested.
“Other arrests may be forthcoming,” the spokesman said.
However, the two incidents were not related, said Ms.me Tabak.
