(Montreal) An 18-year-old man is fighting for his life after being hit by bullets overnight from Thursday to Friday in the town of Mont-Royal in the heart of Montreal Island.
Emergency services received a call at about 1:45 a.m. to report a person with a gunshot wound to the apartment on Trenton Avenue near Aberdere Road.
Upon their arrival, Montreal police say they found the “unconscious teenager with more than one grenade.”
The Montreal Police Department (SPVM) said he was rushed to hospital in critical condition and was fighting for his life in the early hours of the morning.
“According to initial reports, a party was going on in a house and suddenly the suspects shot the victim at the scene and then fled before police arrived,” said SPVM’s porter agent Carolyn Sevrefils.
The scene of the crime has been guarded so that investigators and forensic identification technicians can try to shed light on the circumstances of the attempted murder.
No arrests were made on suspicion until early this morning.
Investigators have no guess as to the cause of the shooting, Agent Chevrolet told The Canadian Press.
“Establishing a hypothesis is still very soon,” he said.
The police have to meet many witnesses of this incident.
A dog squad was dispatched to the scene to assist in the search for clues.
