Dublin Bellator is ready and ready to drop today (Friday, September 23, 2022) Inside the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, features a lightweight bout between former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Benson Henderson, with Peter Coyle. In the co-title act, Melvin Manhof and Yoel Romero will hit a light-heavyweight tilt.

Round 1: He comes out aggressively. He drops a few shots that send “smooth” backwards. Henderson’s low kick. Henderson shoots a takedown, but he totally stuffs it. Henderson with one leg, forbidden. The low kick lands in Henderson’s favour. “Smooth” shoots another takedown, he struggles to get it, and he defends well but Henderson brings him down to one knee. He calmly gets back on his feet, and Henderson shoots for takedown again. Look brilliantly sharp with his hit. Quietly cut below his left eye. Close tour. 10-9 quality.

205 lbs: Melvin Manhof against. Yoel Romero
Round 1: An initial start for both men. They exchange low kicks. High kick from Manhof, he slides to the board. Low kick from Romero and Manhof drops..not sure what. Romero side control. Great shots of Romero. Side control of the “Soldier of God”. Half guarded now for Romero, he doesn’t do much with it. Romero is looking for an Americana. He held him for a moment before Manhof escaped. Romero is still on the side, the Manhof is like a fish coming out of the water as soon as it hits land. Not the most exciting tour but Romero takes it. 10-9 Romero.
Second round: Kick to the center of the Manhoef. Low kick in turn from Romero. Romero tags Manhuffel and sends him back for a moment. regroups. Both men are still hesitant to participate. Romero lunges and lands with his big right hand. Manhoef needs to let his hands go. Romero shoots for takedown, Manhof defends well but eats his right hand for his efforts. Romero drops on one knee, faking a removal. Mahov bites. Low kick lands south of the border for Manhof, Romero shakes it. Romero marks Manhof with his left hand shaking him momentarily. An attempt to knee-jerk from the “Soldier of God” was repelled by Manhof. 10-9 Romero
Round Three: Manhoef needs to show something here. It was taken down by Romero. Romero side control. Romero mounts and starts taking down some huge elbows, and now he’s unloading big bombs to a helpless Manhof while he’s out and about! Fabulous. Romero out of nowhere.
End result: Romero defeated. Manhof by knockout in the third round
145 lbs: Mads Pernell vs Pedro Carvalho
Round one: Both men come out swinging. Pernell finishes Carvalho. takes his back. Carvalho fights her but Burnell hits him with the cage. Carvalho bounces back up. Facing the cage. Nice knees from Carvalho land to the midsection. Burnell shoots a removal request and he gets it. Carvalho fights back again to get back on his feet, but causes Burnell to roll all over him. Burnell hits him again but Carvalho rebounds quickly. Burnell pops off a nice bunch before he shoots another takedown. Carvalho can’t get away from Burnell who dominates this round. Carvalho finally broke free and began descending before he could be taken down, again. 10-9 Bernel.
Round 2: Carvalho started with low kicks, and a great pass from Carvalho. Burnell descends to a huge left, shoots for takedown and gets it. Burnell looking for the naked gorge. Head side shots from Burnell. They scramble while Carvalho tries to escape, but Burnell doesn’t have it. They separate and Carvalho is taken down again. That’s an elaborate lesson in removing prenyl, I’ve lost count. Burnell is looking again for the rear bare throttle. Carvalho escapes and is now in control. But just for a second, Purnell does a good sweep. In lateral control now. Burnell got Carvalho’s back. guess what? Pernell drops Carvalho…again…with ease. Carvalho fights his way back and has the advantage on his feet. Now he shoots for takedown and gets it. Burnell looks a little tired. Large Carvalho elbow as a round end. 10-9 Brnl
Round Three: Carvalho wins the strong role. Connects the high kick. Burnell doesn’t have much on his feet. Nice low kick from Carvalho. Carvalho really beats Burnell, who then looks for takedown. Carvalho pushes Purnell up against the cage, releasing his knees from the cuff and taking Burnell down. Side control for Carvalho, who takes a second win while Burnell appears completely exhausted. Nice elbows from Carvalho. Pernell isn’t really trying to get out of this position, he’s drained. Carvalho tries to climb. Nice roundup of Carvalho, who bombs Pernell… but it may not be enough to win.
End result: Carvalho defeated. Burnell by unanimous decision
145 lbs: Leah McCourt against. Diana Silva
Round 1: Silva starts with his big right hand. McCourt eats. Look like a clash if heads. McCourt lands a nice set and then knees in the middle. McCourt pushes Silva toward the cage and loosens his knees to the middle. McCourt restores Silva. Silva tries to escape. McCourt tries to remove and lands her knee on Silva’s face. Silva managed to reverse the position and now has McCourt face the cage. Nice right hand from McCourt and the other. Silva shoots the takedown and she gets it. McCourt struggles her way back to her feet. 10-9 McCourt.
Round two: Silva swings wildly. McCourt with a couple of punches. Some dirty blows from both men to open the round. McCourt began to tighten it. Nice low shot for Silva, McCourt touches down great. Silva kicks the body and his left hand is curled somehow landing. McCourt right straight, knee on head as Silva slows down. Another wild blow from Silva, catching nothing but air. The low kick lands in McCourt’s favour. McCourt sparkles in her right eye. McCourt pushes Silva toward the cage, and Silva reverses his stance. Knees to the middle section of Silva. Silva lands with a nice left hand. Close tour. 10-9 Silva.
Round Three: Push kick starts things up for McCourt. Silva’s right hand rotates, then left. Silva began to find her groove. McCourt needs to speed up her pace, but her eyes are starting to shrink, having cut under her left eye. One-two misses McCourt and once again, Silva swings wildly. Low kick to Silva. Three minutes left in a tight competition. Silva lunges inward and only catches air with her attack of blows. McCourt with another push kick, shoots for takedown but is stuffed. Silva pushes her opponent towards the cage. Knees to the middle section of Silva. McCourt started his strength, but I have Silva in the last two rounds. McCourt’s attack slows down. Nice right hand from McCourt, then left kick. Silva shoots tkaedown, and puts McCourt back as the round ends. 10-9 Silva
End result: McCourt was defeated. Silva by unanimous decision
145 lbs: Ciaran Clark against Raphael Hudson
Round 1: Hudson opens with a low kick, left hook to the body and then right-handed Clark drops! He flocks and is now fully guarded. Clark gets rid of the cobwebs. He fights for the position and Clark is looking for an arm. Hudson gets out of it. Back in full guard. Clark shoots elbows from below and Hudson returns fire. Clarke tries to get another arm bar and Hudson gets out again and lands with the fist of a huge hammer before returning to guard position. Clarke breathes heavy after Hudson flanked him in the first round. 10-9 Hudson
Round two: Clarke comes out aggressive and eats an elbow in the head and then a flying knee. This is enough to make him shoot. Bad move as Hudson is now dropping bombs. Hudson’s half guard now, moving on to full. Clark back with elbows. Clark managed to fight back to his feet and they parted. Hudson has a punching technique, it’s effective so far. He tried his flying knee and slipped. Clark is now half-guarded. He’s looking for a naked choke from behind, we don’t respond. Lateral control now for Clark. Lots of scrambling on the ground, Clark looking to surrender while Hudson tries to stay alive. 10-9 Clark
Round Three: Clark shoots the takedown and gets it right away. Lateral control and transmission to guard. Hudson drops his back for a moment and Clarke is now looking for a naked choke from behind. Shots to the side of the head in Clark’s favour, scoring in an even fight. Clark tries to flatten Hudson, he’s got both hooks. Try to choke naked from behind. He has one arm under his chin and Hudson momentarily escapes. Clark is still working for it. I shut it down and Hudson clicks! Great comeback Clark.
End result: Clarke was defeated. Hudson via 3rd round submission (naked rear throttle)
