BTS’s Suga used the Monday (May 8) episode of his radio show, Agust D Apple Music To highlight the music that made him the musician he is today, he revealed that one of his favorite songs is a piece by Bruno Mars.
During the radio show, Suga said that “talking to the moon” holds a special place in Martian’s heart. It’s our friend, Bruno Mars. I think that song came out when I was in high school, and I remember listening to it a lot during [BTS] Training Days.” “I liked this track more than the album. Listen to “Talking to the Moon”. it is good. I don’t recommend bad songs.”
While “Talking to the Moon” didn’t chart for Mars in the US, the track has seen a resurgence during the pandemic via TikTok, where a remixed version of Jnr Choi went viral after being used in videos on the social media platform. The original version of the tune was released in the 2010 Deluxe Edition Doo-Wops & Hooligans.
Elsewhere on the radio show, Suga named Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto as one of his favorite musicians. The two worked together on rapper BTS’s song “Snooze” before Sakamoto passed away in March.
“It was an honor to get the chance to work with him. I was saddened by the news of his recent passing,” Suga said. “I would like to express my respect and gratitude by recommending these three tracks that I love: ‘Happy Birthday Mr. Lawrence’ and ‘Mr. Lawrence’. Opus” and “Railway Man.”
Suga is set to continue his solo Agust D world tour. The North American leg of the trip ends in California with a trio of dates in Englewood on May 10-11 and 14, and ends in Oakland on May 16-17. The rapper will continue his tour across Asia.
