Criminal poultry farming: Rooster arrested by Regina police

A video of a rooster on the back of a Regina police cruiser is going viral on social media. Chickens running amok in the northern districts of the city were arrested by law enforcement officials on Friday.

In a post by the Regina Police Service (RPS) on Friday, a police officer can be seen interacting with the bird in the back of a vehicle, as if it were a rowdy criminal he had arrested.

“He didn’t say much except to repeat that finding himself in the back of a patrol car was actually an electric shock,” says RPS on X.

The rooster, named Captain Holt after the fictional character from the Brooklyn Nine-Nine series, was rescued from a shelter in Saskatchewan.

“He’s the cutest criminal I’ve ever seen in the back of this patrol car,” his rescuer, Brittany Naimi, who runs the animal shelter, says on Instagram. It mainly welcomes cats and pigeons, but makes an exception for some animals like Captain Holt.

“He’s in our enclosure now, checking on everyone within a 10-mile radius [16 km] He knows he’s there,” she concludes.
