Crisis in Solidarity Quebec | Two of Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois’s closest collaborators resigned

(Quebec) Two staff members and close aides of parliamentary leader and co-spokesperson Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois have resigned in the Québec solidaire (QS) office.

Gabrielle Brais-Harvey, who served as director of communications, and Keena Gregoire, who assumed the role of deputy general manager, resigned Friday. Contacted by PresQuébec solidaire confirmed the information.

“We took note of the resignation of the Director of Communications and Deputy Director General of the Office on Friday afternoon. Mme Price-Harvey and Mr. Grégoire contributed heart and energy to our party over the years, whether as activists or staff. They are dedicated to project ideas and solidarity across Quebec and have helped bring our organization to where it is today. We wish them all the best in their future plans,” announced Miriam Fordin, director general of the office.

The two new departures, which lost its female co-spokesperson Émile Lessard-Therrien on Monday, add to a week of crisis the party is going through. By resigning his position, the former member of Rouyn-Noranda-Témiscamingue pointed to “a small group of professionals. The. is tightly woven around” its male counterpart.

After leaving Mme Lessard-Therrien, another figure associated with Quebec Solider’s National Coordination Committee (CCN), which sits on co-spokespersons, also resigned. Elizabeth Labelle, who has been in charge of liaising with local unions since January, left her post earlier this week to “let her voice out” and undermine work on this nerve-centred orientation.

“We felt that those discussions were happening elsewhere and we have come to certain conclusions and we have taken the decisions that have been presented to us in terms of our acceptance of them. The intention was to accept the proposals to move forward,” he explained Pres.

Quebec solider confirmed Thursday that Christine Labrie, the member for Sherbrooke, has been named interim female co-spokesperson while she organizes a new race that ends next fall.
