Cyberpunk 2077’s top designer miles are getting bigger state In this regard, highlighting how the introduction of the New Game Plus mode is not just about allowing players to start the game again while keeping the progress the same, because such a mode requires a huge amount of work:
It brings balance to the entire game (enemies, equipment, items) and tons of testing/tweaking; There are many skill checks in the gameplay and dialogues, what’s going on here? How do we deal with the attribute / credit + privilege points?
Are the early game software hacks anything new – can the player get to places with a double jump that they shouldn’t? What happens when you get your first fist at Vik’s but have a gorilla fist? The part of your hand where you see surgery may need to be completely redone.
Do you keep your vehicles? How do we deal with all these scenarios?
Some of the answers may be simple, but for us we will need to scan the entire game to make sure that the feature touching almost every aspect is done correctly.
Unfortunately, it’s not just about letting you start a new game with your existing V and connect to it daily.
However, the door was not completely closed. Cyberpunk 2077 may get a New Game Plus mode in the future, as the developer listens and investigates:
Just to name some of the questions we need to answer.
It’s not impossible, but you see how much more work than one might think at first glance.
We listen and investigate. No promises however.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and Stadia worldwide.
