Two people were arrested Tuesday afternoon as part of a crackdown on drug trafficking in Quebec. They had many weapons.
At 2:20 p.m., the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) went to the Neufchatel department to search a private residence.
Two persons aged 24 and 52 have been arrested. They face charges including possession of a prohibited weapon, drug trafficking, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and theft over $5,000.
Several weapons were seized
At the site, police found seven loaded firearms, including two .12 calibers and five different types of rifles and their ammunition.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 1,700 prescription pills for the manufacture of methamphetamine.
560 tablets of this type of drug and equipment used for drug trafficking were also recovered by the SPVQ.
The 24-year-old suspect is due to appear in a Quebec court during the day on Wednesday, while a second man involved in the case has been released on a promise to appear.
