Fantasy Football Thanksgiving Inactive: Who’s in and who’s out?

Who should you start with? Who should you sit with? To help you set your fantasy football lineups and avoid starting an offensive player who won’t be in the lineup, we’ll post fantasy-related updates and analysis here when NFL teams release their official inactive rosters. Any rankings mentioned in this column come from the ranks of the ESPN Fantasy staff.

Officially inactive persons must begin arriving approximately 90 minutes prior to each match’s kick-off time.

Green Bay Packers – Detroit Lions -7.5
Ford Field, Detroit
Thursday 12:30 pm Egypt time

Aaron Jones, RB, GBOutside
Impact: He participated in limited practice this week before Thursday, so there is optimism he will be able to step in for Jones. Emmanuel Wilson has been placed on IR, so he won’t be in the mix.

A.J. Dillon, R.P., J.P– active
The Packers signed James Robinson from their practice squad to the active roster on Wednesday and could get some carries. Patrick Taylor is the other healthy player back on the depth chart.

Luke Musgrave, TE, GB – Outside/infrared
IMPACT: Musgrave has a lacerated kidney but is not expected to need surgery, Tucker Craft gets a chance to step up while Josiah Deguara is treated for a hip injury.

Dontaveon Weeks, WR, GB — Inactive
IMPACT: Jayden Reed and Christian Watson have been ruled out of the injury report and are both ready to go.

AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas
Thursday 4:30 PM ET

Antonio Gibson, RB, WSHactive
Impact: Brian Robinson Jr. became More involved in the passing game, Gibson’s value may still be limited.

Rico Dowdle, RB, DALactive
Impact: He played through an ankle injury last week, and he’ll do the same this time, even with the shortened response time.


San Francisco 49ers -7.5 @ Seattle Seahawks
Lumen Field, Seattle
Thursday 8:20 PM ET

Geno Smith, QB, SEADoubtful
Impact: Pete Carroll has reportedly said he expects Smith to play, but it wouldn’t be a shock if Drew Lock had to step in at some point.

Kenneth Walker III, RB, SEADoubtful
Impact: Walker didn’t practice, so expect Zach Charbonnet to handle the bulk of Seattle’s starting quarterback job.


MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
Friday 3pm ET

Devon Ashan, RB, MIADoubtful
Impact: Miami will likely err on the side of caution with Ishani and have Jeff Wilson Jr. take over relief duties behind Raheem Mostert on Friday. Salvon Ahmed has been placed on IR.
