55 northbound Friday afternoon near Sainte-Eulalie in a two-vehicle collision. Two people are in critical condition.
Shortly before 3 p.m., a southbound driver collided, for reasons still unknown, with another vehicle in the opposite lane, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) said.
Police said that both the drivers sustained serious injuries and one of them was feared dead. S.Q..
One of the victims is said to be from Beaconcourt and the other from Trois-Rivières.
At 8:30 p.m., highway 55 was still closed to traffic between highway 55 in Saint-Eulalie and highway 20 in Sainte-Eulalie, 9e rang, Saint-Wenceslaus.

Highway 55 had to be closed at the 146 kilometer mark to analyze the crash site.
Following the collision, one of the vehicles caught fire. A column of black smoke was still visible around 4:30 p.m.
