Jason MomoaThe new series isn’t a hit in Hawaii… The people there are upset that a local farmers’ market has been closed due to filming, and they’re pitching it to the actor.
Jason filmed an Apple TV+ production of “Chief of War” on the Big Island of Hawaii, and Kaimu Farmer’s Market appears to be one of the casualties.
The Farmers Market is only open on Saturdays and vendors have been informed that the market area will be closed for two consecutive Saturdays in December… with the market saying it was because Jason’s film crew requested the area for filming.
The Kaimu Farmer’s Market’s Facebook page is filled with comments about the ad, with vendors expressing frustration that they can’t sell their goods because of the movie, especially so close to the holidays.
People tear Jason down, blame him for depriving them of their livelihood during the biggest time of the year, and criticize him for being “out of touch.”
Vendors are also seeking compensation, with some wanting the film crew to pay some money for lost revenue. It’s unclear if the studio or production company compensates the owners of the market, but they usually get something.
