Fire destroys Dolphins star's home Southwest Ranches – NBC 6 South Florida

Firefighters battled a massive house fire in South Florida Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill on Wednesday afternoon.

The fire broke out shortly before 2 p.m. at the home in the 16000 block of Berkshire Court in a gated community in Southwest Ranches.

Aerial footage from Helicopter 6 showed thick smoke rising from the palace as crew members poured water on it and firefighters created holes in parts of the roof.

Crews were working to put out a fire at Tyreek Hill's home in Southwest Ranches on Wednesday.

A large number of firefighters and police from several nearby agencies responded to the scene including Davie Fire Rescue and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue.

Bob Taylor of Davie Fire Rescue said the fire was limited to the attic and roof, but he said there was smoke damage to much of the house. Taylor said it was too early to determine the cause of the fire.

Taylor said no injuries were reported.

Hill, the Dolphins' star receiver, was practicing with the team on Wednesday and was not home when the fire broke out.

A Dolphins spokesman said Hill left practice and said everyone who was home at the time was safe.

The footage showed Hill, wearing a white T-shirt, dark sweatpants and a shoe on his left foot, returning home and hugging family members.

The fire appeared to have been extinguished by 3pm, although a large hole was seen in one part of the roof.

Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said it was unknown if the family could have stayed at the home Wednesday night, but he said Hill was grateful no one was injured.

“It's very difficult for anyone to have their house catch on fire, but Tyreek and his family are handling it with as much poise as you could hope for, and he was grateful to the firefighters who saved his house,” Rosenhaus said.

Hill bought the mansion in 2022 for $6.9 million, real estate records show.

The 9,300-square-foot home has seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a home theater, a full-size basketball court, a huge pool, and guest houses.

Hill, 29, was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Dolphins in 2022 and signed a four-year, $120 million contract extension.

The Dolphins' injury report released Wednesday before the team's Sunday night game against the Buffalo Bills lists Hill with an ankle injury.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa told reporters that he learned of the fire after practice and after Hill left to go home.

“The main thing is that his family is safe, his loved ones are okay, and he's okay too,” Tagovailoa said. “I'm glad a lot of his family members are okay… We're thinking of them, and we hope everyone is doing well.”
