This situation has caused damage in some municipalities such as Saint-Ambroise.
“Range 6 is completely cut in one place. We sealed the breach and replaced the defective part. There is still work to be done. We expect levels to rise, but the situation is completely under control, ”said Lucian Crawl, mayor of Saint-Ambrose.
The water level of Lake Sebastien is high, but in Saint-David-de-Falardeau the situation seems to be stable.
The Park National Desmonds-Wallin is closed due to the high volume of the Wallin River.
Favorable weather
A good weather forecast for the next few days will help resolve the situation near the waters.
Also, the Quebec Ministry of Transport is expected to clean the roads by next weekend.
“We can say we are lucky in terms of the weather because it has calmed down and we have less rainfall,” said Andre-Ann Ducesne, a spokesman for the Ministry of Transportation.
Catino in surveillance mode
The water level has risen slightly since late Friday.
However, there is nothing to worry about with this increase, which the city of Catino says should continue on Sunday afternoon.
According to experts, the size of the Katino River should decrease by the beginning of the week, but residents are being invited to keep their sandbags.
